Yanira Collado lives and works in Miami. She is a graduate of the New World School of Arts high School-Magnet and in 1994 proceeded to study at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. From 1996 to 2001 she studied early childhood development and art therapy specific to people with disabilities. Yanira Collado has been an Artist in residence at the African Heritage Cultural Center. She has exhibited in several galleries in Chicago and Miami. Yanira Collado was awarded first prize in the 2013 Miami biennial.
