ABOUT
REALM is an exhibition exploring the intersection of narrative paintings, neo-expressionism, and the idea of challenging anti-social dogmas, as seen in the work of Miami-based artist Bayunga Kialeuka. The project examines the shared realities and communities shaped by ego, doubt, and conviction.
This body of work expands on "social expressionism" as a lens to analyze how environments and ideologies influence societal beliefs. REALM delves into Bayunga's personal and collective fears, assumptions, and philosophies, offering a self-analysis of how social dogmas shape reality.
At its core, REALM portrays a metaphorical conversation, where shared thoughts and imaginations converge to build a community. It highlights the collaborative journey of adapting to environments and assumptions while navigating the intersection of knowledge, imagination, and societal structures.
